El Gouna Film Festival kicks off

CAIRO, Sept 21 (SEE)- The second edition of El Gouna Film Festival (GFF) kicked off on Thursday at El-Gouna Red Sea resort.

The festival’s program consists of the three competitions (Feature Narrative Competition, Feature Documentary Competition, and Short Film Competition).

The opening ceremony was attended by Tourism minister Rania Al-Mashat and Culture Minister Enas Abdel Dayem, in addition to a large number of stars including Adel Imam, Mona Zaki, Yousra, Boshra, Dora, Hind Sabri, Ahmad Helmy, Asser Yassin, Dina El Sherbini, Ahmed Malik, Ghada Adel, Akram Hosni, Nelly Karim, Khaled El Sawy, and others.

The festival also welcomed a number of international stars including world-renowned artist Sylvester Stallone, Patrick Dempsey, Andrew Wilson, Owen Wessellon, Desiree Popper, Clive Owen, and Lesandra Silva, who attended the first session of the festival.

International model Elisa Sidnawi, director Abdulrahman Sissoko, Daniel Kandil and American actress Lindsay Sloan were also among the attendees.

El Gouna Film Festival is one of the leading festivals in the Middle East. It aims to connect filmmakers from the region with their international counterparts in the spirit of cooperation and cultural exchange.
