The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has officially announced the results of the public electronic lottery for the 2025 Hajj season (1446 AH).
The lottery was conducted yesterday through Egypt’s Unified Hajj Portal under the supervision of Ms. Samia Sami, Head of the Central Administration for Tourism Companies and Chair of the Supreme Committee for Hajj and Umrah.
The lottery was held electronically in line with established regulations governing tourism-related pilgrimages.
Attendees included members of the Supreme Committee for Hajj and Umrah, representatives from the Ministry’s Central Administration for Tourism Companies, the Chamber of Tourism Companies and Travel Agencies, the Ministry of Interior’s Administrative Affairs Department, and service providers from Saudi Arabia’s holy sites.
In her opening remarks, Ms. Sami conveyed greetings from Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Mr. Sherif Fathy, and emphasized the Ministry’s dedication to ensuring a successful pilgrimage season.
She reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to providing top-tier services to Hajj pilgrims, particularly in economic and land travel programs, while continually improving the tourism Hajj system.
Ms. Sami noted the collective efforts of the Ministry, the Chamber of Tourism Companies, and other stakeholders to overcome challenges and ensure a seamless pilgrimage experience.
She also acknowledged the significant role played by the Saudi Consulate in Egypt and the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in addressing any issues faced by Egyptian pilgrims.
Ms. Sami highlighted the growing trust in tourism Hajj services, noting that 58,093 citizens applied this season. Of these, 56.2% were women, and 43.8% were men.
• Economic Hajj: 41,228 applicants (71% of total).
• Land-based Hajj: 8,605 applicants (14.8%).
• Five-star Hajj: 8,260 applicants (14.2%).
A total of 1,236 tourism companies submitted applications for organizing Hajj this season, including:
• 788 companies for economic-level Hajj.
• 218 companies for land-based Hajj.
• 230 companies for five-star Hajj.
The majority of visas were allocated to economic and land-based programs, reflecting the government’s focus on providing affordable pilgrimage options for a wide range of citizens.
Tourism companies that registered applicants can access the lottery results through Egypt’s Unified Hajj Portal using their credentials.
