Egyptian Commercial Service (ECS) announced an increase in the volume of Egyptian potato exports to Lebanon for the 2024 season by 60% to reach 73.5 thousand tons worth $30 million, compared to about $18.78 million in 2023.

This season is considered the most successful season since 2016 in terms of quantity and value.

Egyptian commercial representation office in Beirut headed by Tamer El-Sayed said that meeting was held by the Ambassador of Egypt to Lebanon with the Lebanese Minister of Agriculture to discuss ways to support trade exchange between the two countries, especially with regard to trade in agricultural crops, where it was agreed on the importance of finding ways to facilitate the import of Egyptian potatoes in its seasons.

He confirmed that the Commercial Representation Office in Beirut periodically followed up on the Egyptian potato export season to Lebanon for the year 2024 (from the beginning of February to the end of March) with all of the officials of the Lebanese Ministry of Agriculture, the Egyptian Agricultural Quarantine, Lebanese importers, and Egyptian exporters to determine that the season is proceeding normally without any obstacles.
