Egypt's Medical Tourism Market Valued at Over $15 Billion Annually

Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, the head of the General Authority for Healthcare and the supervisor of the Comprehensive Health Insurance and Decent Life projects at the Ministry of Health and Population, participated today in the opening of the International Conference on Health Tourism in Egypt.

The event, which carries the theme "Echoes of the Past Renewed Today," took place in the New Administrative Capital.

Dr. El-Sobky expressed his pleasure in inaugurating the International Conference on Health Tourism in Egypt, an event held under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and attended by the Prime Minister.

This reflects the strong interest and support for developing and enhancing this strategic sector in Egypt. Dr. El-Sobky highlighted the conference as a unique platform to showcase the potential of Egypt and its provinces and health institutions in both therapeutic and wellness tourism, as well as an opportunity for live exploration and exchange of global ideas and innovations in healthcare and health tourism development, aiming for continuous improvement in the country.

Dr. El-Sobky added that the conference centers on a new vision for enhancing healthcare for both Egyptians and visitors, noting the participation of numerous health tourism experts and specialists from around the country and the world.

 This collaboration offers a chance to benefit from the best expertise and exchange knowledge and best practices. He emphasized the significant political support for health tourism and Egypt's potential to become a leading destination in Africa, the Middle East, and globally.
