Ali Al-Moselhi, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade confirmed that the central operations room formed in ministry's directorates has started its work on Friday to follow up the rates of local wheat supply for the 2022 season.
Al-Moselhi pointed to the regularity of all the committees in their work at the sites since the early morning, adding that they have already started to receive quantities of local wheat, which reflects the keenness and awareness of the Egyptian farmer to supply local wheat since the start of the season.
He added that the ministry has prepared well for the supply season this year by preparing more than 400 points to receive the imported local wheat in silos, hangers, bunakers and developed shoons, adding the supply season continues from today until the end of August 2022.
Al-Moselhi confirmed that the dues of the suppliers will be disbursed within 48 hours, adding that he had directed the governorates to facilitate the supply operations for suppliers and farmers.
He pointed out that the ministry aims this year to receive nearly 6 million tons of local wheat, and storage capacities are ready to receive the required quantities.
Hamad Kamal, the official spokesman for the ministry, the deputy minister of supply, said that the central operations room in the ministry and the directorates will submit a daily report to the minister to follow up on the operations of importing local wheat.
