Egypt’s communications and information technology sector recorded a growth rate of 18.9% during the third quarter of the current fiscal year, according to Communications Minister Raafat Hindi.

The remarks came during a meeting organized Sunday by EITESAL as part of its ongoing dialogue series with government officials.

Hindi said the ministry is shifting its strategy beyond simply digitizing government workflows toward fully automating the citizen experience in accessing public services.

He explained that the government plans to introduce new value-added digital services with direct and measurable impact on citizens across several sectors, including healthcare and education.

The minister added that the Digital Egypt platform currently offers 220 government services, with plans underway to add 50 more services during the next phase of expansion.

He also highlighted efforts to complete the digitization of all employment-related documentation procedures within the current fiscal year, following the rollout of a fully digital version of Egypt’s employment registration certificate, commonly known as the “Kaab El Amal” certificate.

Egypt has accelerated its digital transformation agenda in recent years as part of broader economic modernization efforts aimed at improving government efficiency, expanding financial and digital inclusion, and enhancing public access to state services.

The communications and technology sector has emerged as one of the country’s fastest-growing industries, supported by rising investment in digital infrastructure, fintech, outsourcing services, and e-government platforms.
