On Saturday, Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly paid a visit to Al Nasr Automotive Factory, marking its official return to production after years of inactivity.
The event symbolized a major milestone for Egypt’s industrial revival. Speaking during the tour, Madbouly expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "Today is truly a day of celebration."
The Prime Minister emphasized the government’s dedication to fostering partnerships with the private sector while expanding the automotive industry to meet growing local demand. "The Egyptian market requires nearly half a million cars annually," he noted. He also reaffirmed that the state remains committed to preserving its key industrial assets, focusing on their optimal utilization. "We are not giving up on our industrial strongholds; we are working to maximize their potential," he stated.
The Al Nasr Automotive Factory, once a symbol of Egypt’s industrial prowess, had been dormant for years. Its reopening is a testament to the government's ongoing efforts to restore its position as a major player in the industry. "We’ve long dreamed of bringing this industrial giant back to life," said Madbouly, adding that the facility’s revival required strategic partnerships and sustainable planning to ensure its longevity.
Madbouly acknowledged the challenges faced in reactivating the factory but underscored the importance of preserving its foundational infrastructure, which he described as an invaluable asset. "Even after years of inactivity, this factory remains a treasure we could not afford to lose," he explained.
The reopening of Al Nasr Automotive Factory aligns with Egypt’s broader vision to bolster local manufacturing, reduce reliance on imports, and create a globally competitive automotive sector.
