The Egyptian Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli decided to prepare a plan in the coming period to facilitate the procedures to issue licenses for pharmaceutical factories and medical supplies.
The premier's directives came during a cabinet meeting on Thursday, in the presence of the Chairman of the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, Medical Supply, and Technology Management (AUPP) Bahaa Zidan.
They reviewed the authority's activity and a number of initiatives aimed at facilitating some regulations, such as tax and custom duty exemptions, facilitating ease of licenses and providing a firm foundation for new pharmaceutical businesses.
During the meeting, AUPP head briefed the prime minister on the authority's efforts to provide medicines and medical supplies, as well as the executive plan to build strategic warehouses for medical products and devices.
Zidan also posted Madbouli on the development of cooperation with a number of global pharmaceutical companies to manufacture drugs in the country.
In turn, the prime minister said the government works on providing the necessary finance for strengthening the country's strategic stock of medicines and various medical supplies.
