Egypt's FM Meets with DRC Minister of Industry in Kinshasa

Badr Abdel Aati, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, held a meeting with Louis Kabamba Watum, Minister of Industry and the Development of SMEs of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, during his visit to Kinshasa.

Abdel Aati pointed out the importance of enhancing joint work to develop trade and investment relations between the two countries, stressing the Egyptian government's keenness to enhance economic integration with African countries, especially the Democratic Republic of the Congo to enhance regional cooperation between Egypt and the countries of the continent.

HE stressed during the meeting the importance of advancing economic relations between the two countries by supporting the private sector and small and medium enterprises in the two countries as a basic driver of economic and social development, in addition to exchanging expertise and the possibility of establishing Egyptian factories in the DRC to localize the manufacture of a number of Egyptian products, especially in the fields of medicines, food industries and agricultural manufacturing.

He also reviewed the pivotal role that the Egyptian Export and Investment Guarantee Agency can play in encouraging small and medium enterprises to enter the Congolese market.

He invited the Congolese Minister to visit Egypt as part of preparations for the upcoming visit of the President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo to Cairo.

On his part, the Congolese minister praised Egypt's pioneering role in supporting development in the African continent, expressing his aspiration to expand the partnership with Egypt, especially in the field of manufacturing and agricultural industries, which would contribute to enhancing sustainable development in the DRC.
