Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty held a series of high-level phone calls on Friday with his counterparts from Bahrain and Germany, focusing on escalating regional developments and ongoing diplomatic efforts to contain tensions.
In a call with Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister Abdelatty reviewed the latest developments across the Middle East, with particular attention to renewed negotiations between the United States and Iran. Both sides underscored the importance of reaching a comprehensive agreement that could ease current tensions and reinforce regional stability.
Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s full solidarity with Bahrain and other Gulf states in confronting any threats to their security, emphasizing Cairo’s commitment to safeguarding the stability of its regional partners amid ongoing geopolitical uncertainty.
In a separate call, the Egyptian minister received a phone conversation from Johann Wadephul, during which both sides exchanged assessments of the rapidly evolving situation in the Middle East. The discussion highlighted the importance of maintaining a ceasefire between Washington and Tehran while supporting diplomatic channels aimed at de-escalation.
Abdelatty stressed the critical role of European actors in reinforcing efforts to reduce tensions, pointing to the influence of Berlin and its partners in advancing dialogue and preventing further deterioration.
The calls come amid heightened international focus on the fragile security landscape in the region, where diplomatic engagement remains a key mechanism for preventing broader conflict and restoring stability.
