Egypt has long supported development efforts in the Nile Basin, and mutual consensus remains the only guarantee for achieving common interests in the region, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty affirmed during a meeting with Tanzanian Foreign Minister Mahmoud Thabit Kombo.
The two officials met on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations between Egypt and Tanzania across various sectors.
During the talks, Abdelatty reiterated Egypt's historic support for development initiatives in Nile Basin countries, emphasizing that cooperation, not confrontation, is the path forward.
“Consensus and cooperation are the only path to securing shared prosperity for the people of the Nile Basin,” the Egyptian FM stated.
The meeting reflected a mutual desire to deepen economic and political ties, while highlighting the importance of regional coordination in managing natural resources and advancing development goals.
