The Foreign Trade report issued by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) revealed that total Egyptian exports increased to $32.3 billion in the first 9 months of 2024, compared to $31.9 billion, year-on-year, an increase of $432 million.
The report explained that the fuel and derivatives sector achieved growth of $3.6 billion compared to $5.8 billion in 2023, with a clear decline rate of $2.2 billion.
Crude oil exports also recorded a decrease to $866 million compared to $1.8 billion in 2023, and petroleum product exports increased to $2.4 billion compared to $1.6 billion, while liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports decreased to $294 million.
The raw cotton sector recorded a decrease in the value of its exports, falling to $167 million compared to $176 million in the same period in 2023.
Raw material exports increased to $3.78 billion compared to $3.42 billion in 2023, achieving an increase of $367 million. The report indicated that the most prominent of these materials are: potatoes worth $409 million compared to $390 million, and dry legumes worth $352 million.
Semi-finished goods exports also increased to $7.4 billion compared to $6.3 billion in 2023, an increase of $1.08 billion.
The most important products also included: cotton threads worth $102 million, carbon and aromatic oils, which recorded significant growth, and animal fats worth $123 million, While, caustic soda exports declined to $48 million compared to $120 million in 2023.
