Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates, Badr Abdelatty, met with his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, as part of the ongoing consultation and coordination between the two countries.
The two ministers reaffirmed the unique and deep-rooted fraternal ties between Cairo and Riyadh, expressing a shared commitment to strengthening the existing partnership and building on its current momentum to serve the aspirations of both peoples.
Both sides emphasized the importance of containing tensions and preventing the expansion of conflict in the region.
Moreover, they called for intensified efforts to achieve calm and prioritized political and diplomatic paths to resolve crises, thereby sparing the region from a new cycle of instability.
The ministers also noted that the nature of regional challenges requires concerted Arab efforts and continued coordination as a fundamental pillar for protecting Arab National Security.
The meeting addressed developments in the Gaza Strip, where both ministers stressed the importance of implementing the second phase of U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan.
Furthermore, they voiced support for the National Committee for the Management of Gaza and called for the swift deployment of an International Stabilization Force to monitor the ceasefire.
Additionally, they emphasized ensuring unhindered humanitarian aid access and preparing for the early recovery and reconstruction phase.
Regarding Sudan, the ministers underscored the importance of continued joint coordination to push for a rapid humanitarian truce as a precursor to a comprehensive ceasefire and the launch of a purely Sudanese-owned political process. Minister Abdelatty stressed the necessity of preserving Sudan’s unity, territorial integrity, and national institutions.
On the Iranian nuclear issue, Abdelatty highlighted the importance of adhering to diplomatic tracks and creating favorable conditions for resuming dialogue between the United States and Iran.
Moreover, he stated that this should lead to a comprehensive and balanced agreement that considers the interests and concerns of all parties, contributes to regional and international stability, and fosters sustainable de-escalation and confidence-building.
