In a demonstration of deep-rooted historical and fraternal ties between Egypt and Sudan, Egyptian National Railways (ENR) launched the 32nd train transporting Sudanese nationals returning to their homeland under the “Voluntary Return” initiative.

The departure took place Wednesday morning from Ramses Station in Cairo, with a total of 30,432 passengers having benefited from the program to date.

The train is scheduled to arrive in Aswan at 11:40 p.m., with a return journey planned the following day at 11:30 a.m., ensuring continued service for passengers traveling back to Cairo. Egyptian National Railways confirmed that all necessary facilities and support are being provided to ensure a smooth and comfortable journey for the returning Sudanese citizens.

This operation comes under the directives of Engineer Kamel El-Wazir, Egypt’s Minister of Transport and Minister of Industry, highlighting the government’s commitment to offering full support and assistance to Sudanese nationals. Officials emphasized that the initiative reflects Egypt’s longstanding dedication to supporting the brotherly Sudanese people.

“The Voluntary Return program demonstrates Egypt’s continued efforts to strengthen ties with Sudan and provide practical support to our brothers returning home,” an ENR spokesperson said.
