Dr. Jihan Zaki, Egypt’s Minister of Culture, received at her Zamalek office His Excellency Advisor Turki Alalshikh, Advisor at the Saudi Royal Court and Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), during his current official visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt. The meeting focused on exploring avenues to enhance cultural and artistic cooperation between the two brotherly nations.
At the outset of the meeting, the Minister welcomed Advisor Alalshikh, emphasizing the deep-rooted historical and fraternal ties between the Egyptian and Saudi people. She noted that these relations, championed by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, serve as a steadfast model for strategic partnership and integration.
A Vision for Shared Creativity
Minister Zaki highlighted that cultural and artistic collaboration between Egypt and Saudi Arabia is a vital pillar for civilizational communication and the support of joint Arab creativity. She noted that such efforts play a crucial role in promoting enlightenment and building social awareness.
The Minister added that a comprehensive study is underway for several proposals and projects discussed during the meeting. Expressing optimism about their upcoming launch, she described the anticipated cooperation as a "fruitful partnership" that will significantly benefit the cultural and artistic movements in both countries.
"Planting Hope and Joy"
For his part, Advisor Turki Alalshikh confirmed that the coming period will witness the launch of numerous joint ventures. He announced that the unifying theme for future collaboration will be: "Planting Hope and Joy."
Alalshikh outlined that the upcoming cooperation includes:
Joint Projects: Initiatives spanning cinema, theater, and cultural dissemination across Egypt’s various governorates.
Artistic Performances: Joint concerts to be held at the Cairo Opera House and across various theaters in Saudi Arabia.
North Coast Project: A major cultural project currently under study for Egypt's North Coast.
Expanding Horizons
The meeting also delved into expanding the scope of joint work across various cultural sectors, including talent support, expertise exchange, and the launching of integrated artistic programs.
The session concluded with both parties agreeing to begin the immediate implementation of the discussed initiatives. This move aims to elevate joint cultural work to a level that reflects the profound historical bonds and fraternal relations between the leadership and people of Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
