Badr Abdel AttyEgyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Migration, Dr. Badr Abdel Aty, met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Friday on the sidelines of the extraordinary meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) foreign ministers in Jeddah.
The meeting aimed to discuss ways to support the Palestinian people, according to a statement issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday.
The two ministers discussed the latest regional developments, with Abdelatty emphasizing the importance of de-escalation, reducing tensions, and exercising restraint during this critical period in the region.
He also briefed his Iranian counterpart on the outcomes of the extraordinary Arab Summit held in Cairo on March 4, highlighting the unanimous Arab support for the early recovery and reconstruction plan for Gaza.
Abdelatty further discussed the welcoming stance of the summit regarding Egypt's offer to host an international conference on reconstruction, in collaboration with the Palestinian government and the United Nations, to mobilize the necessary funding for the Arab plan's implementation.
