Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty met with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad, in the presence of Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, to discuss ways to reduce regional escalation and support stability.
The meeting focused on the ongoing military tensions and the need for coordinated action among the three countries to prevent further deterioration. Sharif expressed appreciation for the role of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in supporting efforts aimed at easing tensions.
The three sides reviewed ongoing diplomatic contacts with regional and international parties to encourage direct negotiations between the United States and Iran and to promote dialogue as the main path to resolving the crisis.
Discussions also covered regional security arrangements and developments related to several issues, including the Palestinian cause, the Horn of Africa, and South Asia, including Afghanistan
