Badr Abdel Aaty, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptians Abroad held a phone conversation with Mossad Boulos, Senior Advisor to the U.S. President on Arab and African Affairs.
The discussion focused on developments in Lebanon and the broader regional situation amid escalating military tensions.
The call came as part of Egypt’s ongoing monitoring of the critical situation in Lebanon, following repeated Israeli aggression and violations of Lebanese sovereignty.
During the conversation, Minister Abdel Aaty reiterated Egypt’s condemnation of the attacks, reaffirming its firm rejection of any infringement on Lebanon’s sovereignty, unity, territorial integrity, and national resources. He stressed that these acts constitute blatant violations of international law and United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701, undermining efforts to maintain peace and stability in Lebanon and the region.
Abdel Aaty emphasized Egypt’s support for Lebanese state institutions, highlighting the need to empower them to assert authority across the country and supporting the Lebanese Armed Forces in these efforts. He also underscored Egypt’s commitment to mobilizing international support to alleviate the humanitarian impact of the ongoing crisis while intensifying diplomatic efforts to halt escalation.
In response, Mossad Boulos praised Egypt’s role in supporting stability in Lebanon and commended Cairo’s efforts to contain tensions and strengthen Lebanese state institutions. He stressed the importance of continued coordination and consultation between Egypt and the United States regarding regional developments.
