Eng. Abdel Moneim Khalil, Head of the Internal Trade Sector at the Ministry of" Supply, said that Egypt's food security is completely sound and its strategic stock of food commodities is reassuring.
He added that the political leadership was directed to spend nearly EGP 50 billion to expand the logistical areas, which resulted in providing enough strategic stock for more than 6 months.
Khalil indicated that "the government managed to prepare 1,500 stores in the last period affiliated with the Holding Company for Food Industries, and as a result, there has been no shortage of any food commodity within 6 years."
He added that, "Egypt was able to ably overcome the Corona pandemic without a noticeable shortage in any food commodities."
