In London, Egyptian Actress Tests Positive to Coronavirus

The Egyptian actress Rola Mahmoud has shortly announced that she has contracted coronavirus (COVID-19). She added that she is now in London.

Rola, on her Twitter account, said that her health condition is deteriorating.

She added, "I contracted the virus despite taking all necessary precautions, and unfortunately, there are a lot of cases here in London and I don't know if they are ready for my treatment"

Rola Mahmoud is a talented actress who was born in Kuwait, grew up in Egypt and lived for 2 years in Germany.

She studied at Victoria College in Alexandria. She graduated from Faculty of Arts- English Literature where she got her Bachelor's Degree about British and American Literature.

The Egyptian actress has attended several acting workshops in Germany and Cairo and has studied film making and acting at the New York Film Academy.

Rola has worked with several prominent industry greats including the Japanese director Hanawa appearing alongside Hiro Arai in the Fairytale in the Sand and in the last movie of the leading Arab director Youssef Chahine in Heya Fawda ( Is This Chaos ).

Apart from many film and television appearances Rola continued to develop her musical talent which began after her appearance in the musical Mafish Gheir Kida by currently working on reviving classic Arab music.

She has worked with several prominent Egyptian, Syrian and Japanese directors. She had several years of voice training by Egyptian and German opera singers.

It is noteworthy that the Minister of Health in Egypt Dr. Hala Zayed said on Wednesday that Egypt recorded a new death of coronavirus, increasing the death toll in the Arab country to 21.

During a press conference, the Egyptian minister said that Egypt recorded 40 new cases, bringing the total number of detected cases in the country to 442.
