Egypt welcomed on Friday the United Nations General Assembly’s vote to adopt the Arab resolution to support the right of the State of Palestine to obtain full membership in the UN.
Up to 143 countries voted for Palestine's membership, 9 against, and 25 abstentions.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry, said in a statement, that the adoption of this historic resolution is a recognition of the rights of a people, who have suffered for more than seven decades.
Egypt urged the UN Security Council and international influential actors to address the grave situation in the Gaza Strip, especially in Rafah, which experiences difficult humanitarian conditions.
