Egypt has agreed to admit the first group of patients for medical treatment from Gaza, the Health Ministry Spokesperson Ashraf al-Qudra said.

Al-Qudra mentioned that a list of patients was submitted to the Egyptian authorities, who have approved the entry of the first batch.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Palestinian Crossings and Borders Authority announced that Cairo informed them that 81 citizens from Gaza, who have sustained serious injuries, will be departing for Egypt for medical treatment the following day.

This development comes amidst the recent shelling of the Jabalia refugee camp by Israeli forces.

Al-Qudra condemned the practices of Israeli occupation in ethnic cleansing across the Gaza Strip.

He also discussed the humanitarian toll, confirming the reception of nearly 400 victims, comprising both martyrs and injured individuals due to the shelling.

However, he noted that medical teams are still working to rescue more victims, indicating a probable rise in victim counts.

The Palestinian health official anticipated an increase in the number of victims from the shelling of the Jabalia camp, likening the situation to the bombardment of Al-Mamadani hospital two weeks ago.

He elaborated that the area was densely populated, especially with a large number of people being displaced due to continuous shelling in various regions of the Strip.
