Egypt Urges Unity, Reconciliation in Syria for Lasting Peace

Cairo, December 8, 2024 – Egypt has expressed its deep concern over the ongoing crisis in Syria, reaffirming its steadfast support for the Syrian state and people. 

In a statement issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cairo stressed its unwavering commitment to Syria's territorial integrity and the need for unifying the country under a single national vision.

The statement urged all Syrian parties to prioritize national interests over divisions and engage in constructive dialogue. Egypt called for a comprehensive and inclusive political process to pave the way for internal reconciliation and regional and international peace.

Highlighting its collaborative approach, Egypt reiterated its readiness to work with regional and international partners to alleviate the suffering of the Syrian people, rebuild the war-torn nation, and facilitate the safe return of Syrian refugees to their homeland.
