Egypt, UAE Discuss Enhancing Cooperation in Felds of Oil, Gas and Mineral Resources

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawy said that the presence of many Emirati companies working in the field of oil and gas in Egypt has effectively contributed to achieving great successes, especially in light of the great support and close relations between the political leadership of the two countries.

This came during the minister's meeting Sunday with Maryam Al Kaabi, the UAE ambassador to Cairo to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries, especially in the fields of oil, gas and mineral wealth.

The Minister stressed his aspiration to deepen cooperation between the petroleum sector and Emirati companies in the fields of research, exploration, refining, mining, and the provision of advanced technologies possessed by the Emirati side.

He explained the importance of the advanced infrastructure and storage capacities that Egypt enjoys and the distinguished geographical location as a gate for Emirati companies towards the West and Europe.

On her part, the Emirati Ambassador pointed to the great expertise and potential possessed by the Egyptian petroleum sector and the opportunities to exchange experiences and intensify joint efforts to achieve more successes for the two countries, stressing that Egypt is a great school and an attractive investment destination and that Emirati companies are looking forward to investing strongly in.

She added that the successful integration between the two countries was clearly evident during the COP27 climate summit in Egypt and then the UAE summit, which is considered a pure Egyptian-Emirati experience, as it demonstrated the extent of compatibility of visions between the two countries.
