Foreign Minister (FM) Badr Abdelatty and his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan, reaffirmed their strong rejection of any attempts to displace Palestinians from their land, emphasizing the need for recognizing a Palestinian state as a fundamental solution to the crisis.
During a joint press conference in Ankara, Abdelatty announced Egypt’s plan to host an international conference to mobilize efforts for the reconstruction of Gaza.
He stressed the importance of supporting Palestinian rights and rejecting any attempts to uproot them from their homeland.
Fidan criticized Israeli Prime Minister (PM) Benjamin Netanyahu’s policies, describing them as pushing the region towards a "disaster."
He further stated that displacing Palestinians to Egypt or Jordan is "unacceptable" and affirmed Turkey’s cooperation with Egypt to prevent such plans that threaten regional stability.
Additionally, the Turkish minister revealed that 15 Palestinian prisoners recently released by Israel had arrived in Turkey, underscoring Ankara’s continued support for the Palestinian cause.
On the economic front, Abdelatty highlighted the strengthening trade relations between Egypt and Turkey, with bilateral trade reaching $8.8 billion last year, reflecting the resilience of ties despite regional challenges.
