Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly arrived at Entebbe International Airport in Uganda, where he is scheduled to head the Egyptian delegation, on behalf of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, to the Extraordinary Summit of Troop Contributing Countries to the African Union Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM), hosted by Entebbe on Friday.

The Prime Minister is scheduled to deliver Egypt's speech at the summit. The summit will also include a closed session for heads of state and government, followed by a group photo of the heads of state and government. The delegations will meet in a plenary session, followed by the adoption of the joint summit statement.

This summit comes in the context of the transition from the African Transitional Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) to the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSOM), which officially began its mission in January 2025, pursuant to Security Council Resolution 2767 of 2024.
