On Thursday, the Egyptian government strongly condemned the recent Israeli airstrikes targeting a school sheltering displaced civilians in the Gaza Strip and UN peacekeeping forces in southern Lebanon.
The airstrikes, which took place in western Deir al-Balah, resulted in the deaths and injuries of dozens of people, further intensifying the ongoing violence in the region.
In a statement, Egypt also condemned the Israeli military’s attacks on UNIFIL (United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon) installations, which injured two peacekeepers. Additionally, Egypt criticized the Israeli army for firing on another UN site in Ras Naqoura, causing damage to vehicles and communication systems.
Egypt expressed deep concern over the continued escalation of violence, pointing to Israel's repeated violations of international law and humanitarian principles.
The statement highlighted that Israel's actions over the past year, which have gone unpunished by the international community, have encouraged its forces to persist in these severe breaches.
Egypt accused Israel of flagrantly defying international norms, undermining the credibility of global institutions that advocate for human rights, justice, and humanitarian values while remaining silent in the face of repeated violations.
