Egypt has welcomed growing international and regional support for Palestinian rights and condemnation of Israel’s blockade and military actions in Gaza, calling the situation a humanitarian catastrophe affecting over two million people.
In a statement on Wednesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to ending the aggression and alleviating the suffering in Gaza. The ministry also addressed recent inquiries from foreign delegations seeking to visit the border region near Gaza, including Arish and the Rafah crossing, to show solidarity with Palestinians.
Egypt stressed that such visits require strict adherence to pre-established protocols, including obtaining prior approval through Egyptian embassies abroad or via formal requests submitted by foreign embassies or organizations in Cairo. These procedures have been in place since the beginning of the war to ensure security and coordination in the sensitive border zone.
The government noted that numerous visits by both governmental and NGO delegations have already been successfully arranged under these regulations. Egypt warned it would not consider any visit requests submitted outside these channels.
Cairo reiterated the importance of foreign nationals complying with Egyptian visa and entry laws, while reaffirming its unwavering support for the Palestinian people and its rejection of Israel’s violations of international law and humanitarian norms.
Egypt also called for immediate humanitarian access into Gaza, urging international pressure on Israel to lift the blockade and open all crossings for aid deliveries.
