Egypt Spends EGP 270 Bln  for Health Programs

Egypt was able to achieve sustainable development despite the Corona pandemic, and it was able to achieve great progress and alleviate the fallouts of the pandemic crisis on the national economy.

Egypt achieved a good economic higher growth rate compared to many countries thanks to the economic reform program launched by the government in 2016 and the national projects that it is currently implementing.

The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development announced in a report that the state-directed EGP270 billion (from the state’s general budget) during the period (18/19-20/21) for health programs, with a growth rate in spending of 70% compared to the previous three years.

In the field of eliminating Hepatitis C, 50 million citizens were examined, in addition to treating 1.2 million infected citizens.

Egypt carried out programs to fight chronic diseases and kidney disease, 25 million citizens were examined, 180 dialysis units were developed, and 2,600 dialysis devices were provided.
