The Egyptian Red Crescent has dispatched a new humanitarian aid convoy to the Gaza Strip, carrying more than 2,500 tons of essential supplies as part of its ongoing relief operations.
The convoy, titled “Zad Al-Ezza… From Egypt to Gaza,” marks the 162nd day of continuous humanitarian efforts and includes a large number of trucks transporting urgent assistance. The shipment contains approximately 1,100 tons of food baskets and flour, over 135 tons of relief items and personal care supplies, and more than 1,270 tons of fuel to support hospitals and critical facilities across Gaza. It also includes winter aid such as mattresses and warm clothing.
The initiative is part of Egypt’s broader role in coordinating and delivering humanitarian assistance to Gaza through national mechanisms led by the Egyptian Red Crescent.
In parallel, the organization received the 24th batch of wounded and injured Palestinians, along with their companions, facilitating their entry and exit through the Rafah crossing. Teams have been deployed on the Egyptian side of the crossing to provide a range of humanitarian services.
These include psychological support for children, family reunification services, distribution of Eid sweets and hot meals, as well as providing clothing and personal care kits. Returnees to Gaza were also given “return bags” containing essential items.
The Egyptian Red Crescent has maintained a constant presence at the border since the beginning of the crisis, with Rafah crossing remaining open from the Egyptian side. The organization continues to operate at full capacity across its logistics centers.
According to official figures, total aid delivered to Gaza has exceeded 800,000 tons, supported by the efforts of more than 65,000 volunteers.
