The Egyptian Red Crescent has launched the 144th “Zad Al-Ezza… From Egypt to Gaza” convoy, delivering massive humanitarian assistance to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip as part of Egypt’s ongoing relief efforts.
According to an official statement, the convoy is carrying comprehensive aid supplies under the “Iftar for One Million Fasters” campaign. The shipment includes more than 180,000 food baskets, 570 tonnes of flour, and over 870 tonnes of medicines, relief materials and personal care items. It also contains more than 1,575 tonnes of fuel, in addition to winter supplies such as warm clothing, blankets, mattresses and tents.
The Egyptian Red Crescent continues to operate at the Rafah Crossing on the Egyptian side, where teams are facilitating the reception and departure of the 17th batch of wounded and sick Palestinians, while assisting them in completing crossing procedures.
Beyond material aid, the organisation is providing an integrated package of humanitarian services to Palestinians, including psychosocial support for children, family reunification services, distribution of suhoor and iftar meals, provision of winter clothing and hygiene supplies, and the distribution of “return kits” to families heading back into Gaza.
The Red Crescent noted it has maintained a continuous presence at the border since the beginning of the crisis, stressing that Rafah Crossing from the Egyptian side has remained open. It added that total humanitarian aid delivered to Gaza has exceeded 800,000 tonnes, supported by the efforts of more than 65,000 volunteers.
