Saudi Arabia and Egypt have intensified their cooperation in the field of civil aviation. On Saturday, Egypt's Minister of Civil Aviation, Dr. Sameh Al-Hefny, met with Saudi Minister of State and Cabinet Member Dr. Essam bin Saad bin Saeed, the President of the Saudi Civil Aviation Authority, Abdulaziz Al-Duailej, and Saudi Ambassador to Egypt, Saleh bin Eid Al-Hosaini, in Cairo.
The meeting focused on exploring ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in civil aviation between the two countries.
According to a statement from the Egyptian Cabinet, the meeting was also attended by Egypt's Deputy Minister of Civil Aviation, Pilot Montaser Manna, Permanent Undersecretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation Amani Metwally, and Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority, Pilot Amr El-Sharqawy.
The discussions covered several topics of mutual interest, aiming to strengthen future cooperation between the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority and its Saudi counterpart. Among the key areas of focus were enhancing airspace management mechanisms and coordination between the two nations, particularly during exceptional circumstances, as well as leveraging promising opportunities that benefit both countries.
The Egyptian Minister of Civil Aviation welcomed the Saudi delegation, commending the strong and deep-rooted relations between Egypt and Saudi Arabia. He highlighted that the meeting reflects the commitment of both sides to advancing joint efforts in line with the political leadership's vision in both nations.
Dr. Essam bin Saad expressed his pleasure at the warm reception and emphasized the historical bonds between Saudi Arabia and Egypt. He praised the ongoing coordination between the two countries across all fields, particularly in civil aviation, underscoring the importance of continued dialogue and the exchange of ideas. He noted that Saudi Arabia is eager to expand bilateral cooperation, which will enhance operational practices between the two nations and bolster their positions as regional hubs for civil aviation in the Middle East.
