The Egyptian Space Agency received the electric, mechanical, and electrical models of the EgyptSat-2 satellite from China today, Sunday, at the headquarters of the Egyptian Space Agency.

The event was attended by Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation and Investment, Dr. Sherif Sedky, CEO of the Egyptian Space Agency, the Chinese ambassador to Egypt Li Lijuan, and the financial director of the Chinese company CASC, along with representatives from China and the Egyptian government.

The celebration takes place inside the latest assembly, testing, and operating building for satellites in Africa, the AITC building, equipped with the latest devices and equipment. Afterwards, the delivery agreement will be signed between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the People's Republic of China at the Egyptian Space Agency building.

The project, MisrSat-2, is a pioneering project for practical cooperation in space technology between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the People's Republic of China. The EgyptSat-2 satellite will contribute to providing images with a resolution of up to 2 meters, which can be used to maximize the utilization of the country's resources. For example, it can be used to identify agricultural crops and distribute them in the Egyptian territory according to the nature of the soil and atmosphere, urban planning, monitoring changes in the coasts, especially in the northern coasts of the country and the Delta region, tracking sources of water and river routes, encroachment on state-owned land, and other vital applications.

It is worth noting that the Egyptian Space Agency is preparing to launch a group of experimental and operational satellites, led by the EgyptSat-2 satellite, which was developed through the strategic partnership between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the People's Republic of China. It is currently being assembled and tested in the first experimental operation of the assembly, integration, and testing center at the headquarters of the Egyptian Space Agency, which is the largest of its kind in the Middle East. This represents a new achievement in the space and satellite industry in the Arab Republic of Egypt, where trained Egyptian engineers are building capacity on the latest functional and environmental satellite assembly and testing technologies. It also enables the Egyptian state to localize satellite assembly and testing technology.

The Egyptian Space Agency confirmed that Egypt's possession of space technology is no longer a luxury but has become a necessity to achieve the Egyptian state's goals of sustainable development and economic advancement.
