Egypt Receives 1,501,110 Pfizer Coronavirus Vaccine Doses

On Wednesday, Egypt received 1,501,110 Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine doses, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, the minister of Higher Education, and the responsible for the Ministry of Health.

The shipment was gifted by the US Government through COVAX, and Gavi to support the developing countries, and part for Egypt's efforts to resist the pandemic.

It is worthy to mention that Abdel Ghaffar said on Wednesday that Coronavirus infections in Egypt have dropped by 54%, while the deaths linked to COVID-19 dropped by 45%.

Abdel Ghaffar added that the rates of deployed patients in hospitals who suffer from the symptoms of the virus or other diseases reached 29%, and the rates of deployed patients inside the ICU were 49%, alongside 24% for mechanical ventilation devices.

Furthermore, the Minister announced that the number of fully isolated hospitals will be decreased to 4 hospitals, and the partial ones will be decreased to 16.

He asserted that the process of vaccinating citizens against COVID-19 is in progress during Ramadan, adding that the average number of given doses ranged between 100,000 and 150,000 doses daily.

Last week, Egypt’s Health Ministry announced on Saturday that the average number of daily coronavirus infections nationwide had reached 559 in the past week.

The average number of Covid-19 deaths reached 8 fatalities, while the average daily number of recoveries reached 565, raising the total number of fully-recovered cases to 438,458.

The number of people who are fully vaccinated against coronavirus has now reached 32,563,052.
