Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty reaffirmed Cairo’s firm support for Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity during talks on Tuesday with Jean-Yves Le Drian, the personal envoy of the French president to Lebanon.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of a preparatory session for the international conference aimed at supporting the Lebanese Armed Forces and Internal Security Forces, currently hosted in Cairo.
Abdelatty affirmed Egypt’s commitment to backing Lebanon’s national institutions and underscored the importance of enabling the Lebanese state to fully exercise its responsibilities, particularly through strengthening the national army as a cornerstone of stability.
The Egyptian foreign minister reiterated that supporting Lebanon’s state institutions is essential to preserving security and stability in the country.
The talks also reflected continued Egyptian-French coordination on efforts to support Lebanon and reinforce the role of its national institutions amid ongoing political and economic challenges.
