Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty reaffirmed Cairo’s full support for Kuwait in safeguarding its borders and protecting its national resources, during a phone call with Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
The call focused on regional developments and ongoing efforts to reduce tensions, with both sides exchanging views on the negotiation track between the United States and Iran. Abdelatty stressed the importance of holding a second round of talks to consolidate the ceasefire, sustain de-escalation, and prevent further escalation in the region, while taking into account the security concerns of Gulf states.
The Egyptian minister also checked on the situation in Kuwait following a recent drone attack targeting two northern border sites. He strongly condemned the incident, describing it as a serious act that threatens regional stability.
Abdelatty reiterated Egypt’s full solidarity with Kuwait and other Gulf countries in confronting any attempts to undermine their security, emphasizing Cairo’s support for all measures taken by Kuwaiti authorities to defend their territory and maintain stability.
