On Sunday, January 5, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Migration, Dr. Badr Abdel Atty, held a phone call with Ahmed Moallim Fiqi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Somalia.
The discussion covered various aspects of bilateral relations and followed up on the Somali Foreign Minister’s visit to Cairo on December 23, 2024.
Abdel Atty reaffirmed Egypt’s unwavering support for Somalia’s unity, independence, and territorial integrity in line with international law principles, emphasizing the importance of ensuring security and stability for the Somali people.
He also stressed Egypt’s commitment to supporting the Somali Federal Government’s efforts in combating terrorism and restoring peace across Somalia, contributing to the stability of the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea region.
Moreover, Abdel Atty expressed Egypt’s readiness to assist Somalia’s national institutions by providing technical support to enable them to fulfill their roles in achieving the aspirations of the Somali people.
