Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty has reaffirmed Cairo’s full solidarity with Gulf countries during separate phone calls with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani.

The calls focused on rapidly evolving regional developments and ongoing coordination between the three countries.

Abdelatty stressed Egypt’s firm support for Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and all Gulf states in the face of any threats or attacks targeting their security and sovereignty. He reiterated Cairo’s long-standing position that Gulf security is an integral part of Egypt’s national security.

During the discussions, Egypt also condemned the recent attack on Bahrain, underscoring the need for a unified regional response to prevent further escalation.

The Egyptian minister called for intensified efforts to halt attacks on Gulf states and warned against the risk of the region sliding into wider instability with unpredictable consequences for regional and international peace.

He emphasized the importance of de-escalation, urging closer coordination and joint action to contain the current crisis and restore stability.

The talks also addressed the need to safeguard freedom of navigation and secure global trade routes. In this context, discussions covered developments related to Red Sea security, with Egypt highlighting the importance of enhanced coordination among littoral states to protect this vital maritime corridor.

Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s consistent position that governance arrangements for the Red Sea should remain limited to the countries bordering it, rejecting any external involvement in its management.
