Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates, met with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, on Saturday during a stopover in Doha while en route to Islamabad.

During the meeting, Abdelatty affirmed Egypt's full solidarity with Qatar and all brotherly Gulf nations during this critical period, reiterating Egypt’s firm condemnation of the ongoing attacks targeting sisterly states and stressing Cairo's unwavering support for its neighbors.

For his part, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman praised Egypt’s consistent national positions and its sincere mediation efforts aimed at launching a direct dialogue between the United States and Iran.

These efforts, conducted in cooperation with Pakistan and Turkey, seek to reduce escalation, prevent the expansion of the conflict, and work toward its containment.

The two sides also discussed the negative repercussions of the ongoing war on the global economy and regional states, specifically addressing the challenges posed by rising energy and food prices and the disruption of global supply chains.

The discussion further covered the measures taken by Qatar to protect its security, secure energy facilities, and maintain a normal economic cycle.

Furthermore, the meeting reviewed the mediation efforts undertaken by Egypt to reach a solution that leads to de-escalation.

Abdelatty briefed his Qatari counterpart on the arrangements for the upcoming quadripartite ministerial meeting scheduled for tomorrow in Islamabad, which will include the foreign ministers of Turkey, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia to discuss military developments and regional stability.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to maintain close coordination and consultation to safeguard Arab national security and reach a diplomatic solution that ends the war and restores security to the region.
