The Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Activation Executive Director Amr El Kadi, representing Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Ahmed Essa, participated in the Meeting of Tourism Ministers of BRICS countries. The meeting was hosted in Moscow, Russia, to enhance the mutual ties between the bloc's countries for achieving global development and security.
During the meeting, the representatives of the participating countries reviewed their perspectives about boosting tourism in their countries, and views to deepen the ties between the bloc's members in the field of tourism and culture.
On his side, El Kadi discussed the latest growth in tourist numbers to Egypt in the first half of 2023, in addition to presenting Egypt's 2028 vision to attract 30 million visitors.
He also talked about Egypt's efforts in enhancing the roles of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, and other governmental institutions to improve the climate of tourism, especially with the private sector, hotel sectors, and legislative institutions.
