Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Badr Abdel Atti held a phone call with Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, to discuss the latest developments in Gaza and ongoing regional efforts to de-escalate tensions.
The two top diplomats reviewed diplomatic initiatives aimed at consolidating a ceasefire and advancing political arrangements for the Palestinian territory. They underscored the importance of supporting an interim administrative mechanism in Gaza to facilitate the return of the Palestinian Authority to assume its responsibilities in the strip.
The discussion also touched on preparations for an upcoming peace-related meeting in Washington, with both sides stressing the need for close Arab and Islamic coordination ahead of the talks. They reaffirmed support for efforts to fully implement the proposed peace framework and reiterated backing for positions rejecting any annexation of the West Bank.
Abdel Ati reiterated Egypt’s call for the deployment of an international stabilization mechanism to monitor the ceasefire and ensure the withdrawal of Israeli forces from occupied areas in Gaza. He also emphasized the necessity of preserving the unity and territorial integrity of Palestinian lands.
In turn, Dar affirmed Pakistan’s support for diplomatic initiatives aimed at reducing escalation and promoting stability across the region.
Both ministers agreed to maintain close coordination on regional developments, underscoring the urgency of sustained diplomatic engagement to prevent further deterioration of the situation in the Middle East.
