Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates, held a telephone call on Sunday with Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister (PM) and Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The call aims at discussing ways to strengthen bilateral relations and consult on several regional and international issues of mutual concern.

During the call, Abdelatty expressed Egypt's pride in its relations with Pakistan, praising the significant progress in bilateral ties recently, particularly following his official visit to Islamabad in late November.

Moreover, Egyptian FM highlighted the importance of building on the outcomes of that visit, continuing joint efforts to advance economic, trade, and investment relations, and intensifying communication between state institutions and the private sectors in both countries.

The two ministers also reviewed regional developments, foremost among them the Palestinian issue.

In this regard, Abdelatty outlined Egypt's intensive efforts to transition to the second phase of the U.S. President’s plan.

Furthermore, he emphasized the necessity of the full implementation of the UN Security Council resolution regarding Gaza, ensuring safe and sustainable access to humanitarian aid, and the importance of initiating early recovery and reconstruction steps.

Additionally, Egyptian FM stressed that achieving a sustainable calm remains a fundamental entry point for launching a serious political path leading to a just and comprehensive settlement of the Palestinian cause.

Furthermore, the two ministers touched upon developments in Yemen, affirming the importance of de-escalation, prioritizing dialogue and consensus over unilateral actions, to contribute to the security and stability of the brotherly Yemeni people.
