Egypt extended its heartfelt condolences to the People’s Republic of China following the devastating earthquake that struck southwestern China on Tuesday, resulting in numerous fatalities and injuries.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Egypt expressed its full solidarity with the Chinese government and people during this difficult time.
It also offered sincere sympathy to the families of the victims and wished a swift recovery to those injured.
The earthquake, which occurred earlier Tuesday, measured a magnitude of 6.8 and struck the northern foothills of the Himalayas, close to Tibet’s sacred city.
The tremor, also felt in neighboring Nepal, Bhutan, and India, has resulted in the deaths of 126 people. At least 188 others were injured, according to international media reports.
