Egypt has expressed its sincere condolences to the Republic of Indonesia for the victims of the earthquake that struck Cianjur town in West Java, leaving dozens killed and hundreds injured.
Egypt also expressed - in a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - its sympathy and solidarity with the government, people of Indonesia and the families of the victims in this painful accident, wishing a speedy recovery for the injured ones.
Noteworthy, indonesia's authorities announced that the death toll from the earthquake that hit the island of Java, Monday, has risen to 162.
West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil said: "I regret to announce that 162 people have been killed," which was confirmed by a spokesman for the local administration in the city of Cianjur in West Java.
Herman Suherman, the regent of Cianjur Regency in West Java, told Indonesian TV Kompas at around 4 p.m. Jakarta time that about 700 were wounded.
