Assistant foreign minister Soha Gendy concluded on Friday negotiations to establish a headquarters for the African Center of Excellence to Combat Climate Change in Egypt with a delegation from the African Union Development Agency (NEPAD).

Egypt's hosting of the headquarters comes within the framework of its keenness to support African and international efforts in the field of combating climate change and its social and economic repercussions.

El-Gendy said that the government will provide all kinds of support for the operation of the soon-to-be-established center.

On her part, NEPAD Program Director Etherine Fotabong lauded Egypt for hosting such an important center that will boost African capabilities against several environmental challenges.
