Egypt will observe Martyr's Day on March 9  in recognition of our righteous martyrs.

On this date every year, the Egyptians celebrate this special day by coming together and thanking their martyrs and old fighters for bringing them the prosperity that they are enjoying today.

“I Am from Every Egyptian House.” Under this slogan, Egypt’s armed forces launched the celebration of Martyr’s Day on the 53rd anniversary of the martyrdom of Lieutenant-General Abdel Moneim Riyad, indicating that the martyrs are heroes found in most of the Egyptian families coming from the good sprouts of this land.

They also take this occasion to confer words of praise upon the army members and thank them for their dedicated efforts in the liberation of their land and their significant role in ending the Israeli aggregation.

Traditionally, this special and historical day brings a day of festivities across the country, and these celebrations have taken place for over 53 years, ever since the death of Lieutenant General Abdel-Moneim Riad who sacrificed his life for the sake of the nation.

As part of the official celebration of the Egyptian martyrs, the Armed forces will organize different activities to celebrate the martyr and veteran day this year. The events will be attended by veteran Egyptian patriots and their association, and government officials as well.

The design of the slogan consists of the flag of Egypt and the shadow of the heroes who sacrifice their lives for the homeland, its peace and security. A white pigeon flying in the sky of the homeland was used.
