El Sayed Al-Quseir, Minister of Agriculture met Sunday with Abbas Al-Haj Hassan, Lebanese Minister of Agriculture, in the Administrative Capital, to discuss enhancing cooperation in the field of agriculture and related activities.
The two ministers reviewed issues related to the exchange of agricultural products between the two countries and removing obstacles that may affect the flow of agricultural goods between the Lebanese and Egyptian sides, including Egypt's exports of potatoes, onions, and palm trees to Lebanon, and organizing the export of mangoes and palm seedlings.
On the other hand, the Lebanese minister indicated his desire to benefit from the Egyptian experience in the field of fish farming and artificial insemination with the aim of improving breeds and training the Lebanese side in this matter.
The issue related to the export of citrus fruits to Lebanon was also discussed.
The Lebanese Minister also visited the fish hatchery at Kilometer 21 in Alexandria Governorate and was briefed on the hatchery’s activities in hatching shrimp, red tilapia, sea bream, sea bass, and wrasse.
He then went to the Samarmon factory for manufacturing and packing fish in the city of Borg El Arab, where the factory’s products were reviewed, which include various processes for packing fish.
