Egypt's Minister of Social Solidarity Nevine el-Qabbaj has launched the second phase of the "Mawadda", a national initiative aimed at preserving the entity of the Egyptian family.
This interactive exercise is inclusive of persons with disabilities and is being carried out in partnership with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).
In her remarks, Randa Fares, Director of the National Project for Preserving the Egyptian Family Entity Mawada, revealed that the training is aimed at raising awareness among those who are about to get married, providing them with the necessary information and skills to establish a cohesive family unit.
She continued that the training takes into account all means of making it possible for people with disabilities to participate, including the participation of trainers with disabilities in the training program.
The training will be conducted in ten governorates, including Cairo, Fayoum, Port Said, Dakahlia, Alexandria, Assiut, Sohag, Qena, Aswan, and the Red Sea, in cooperation with the Social Solidarity Directorates. The aim is to train 4,000 participants over 480 training days, with activities implemented in a participatory and interactive manner with both male and female participants, Fares added.
