On Monday, Egyptian, Jordanian and Iraqi foreign ministers held a tripartite meeting in Cairo, where they stressed the importance of reaching political solutions to the conflicts afflicting some Arab countries.
In a statement, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the meeting that grouped Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry with his Jordanian and Iraqi counterparts, respectively Ayman Safadi and Fouad Hussein, comes as part of the continuous consultation of the coordination mechanism between the three countries.

The three ministers also affirmed the need to “halt all foreign intervention” in the internal affairs of Arab countries’ and advance political solutions to all crises of the region in a way that consolidates security and stability of Arab people, the statement added.
The statement stated that the meeting aimed at political consultations regarding the latest developments in the region, where visions were exchanged on the Palestinian issue, the peace process, and the situations in Syria, Yemen and Libya.
The meeting comes just before the emergency meeting of the League of Arab States Council at the level of foreign ministers, later today, on the developments of the Palestinian issue, with an Egyptian-Jordanian initiative.
Hossam Zaki, the assistant secretary general to the Arab League, said in remarks to the media on Sunday he expects that consensus among Arab states on a proposed draft resolution that reaffirms the Arab nations’ constant stances on Palestine will be reached in the emergency meeting.
