Egypt has strongly condemned the terrorist attack that targeted Diori Hamani International Airport in the Nigerien capital Niamey, expressing full solidarity with Niger, its government and its people, in the face of terrorist threats.
In an official statement issued on Monday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Egypt said Egypt condemns in the strongest terms the “cowardly terrorist attack,” stressing its firm rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism aimed at destabilising states and threatening civilian lives.
Egypt reaffirmed its commitment to continuing support for countries of the Sahel region, underscoring the importance of joint efforts to enhance security, achieve stability, and eradicate terrorism across the region. The statement added that Cairo stands by Niger and other Sahel nations as they confront growing security challenges posed by extremist groups.
